Solution
A Better World Fund gives grants to deserving charities working internationally and in the United States in the vital areas of Peace, Hunger, Health, Human Rights, Ecology, Education, and Economic Development. The logo is made up of 7 overlapping circles, representing their seven areas of support. When reading through the list - peace, hunger, health, human rights, ecology, education, economic development - it became obvious to me that these are not distinct areas, but are inextricably connected. Improving one improves the others, neglecting one worsens the others. I wanted this to come across, so not only are the interlocking circles individual shapes, but they also form other unique shapes where they intersect - like a Venn Diagram.
The color palette is cool-neutral and somewhat earth-tone, to both avoid possible references to specific countries (which tend to use bright colors in their flags) and to put forth a solid, grounded and calming sense. The typeface in the logo is familiar, friendly and strong while remaining somewhat neutral.
