The Hackensaw Boys are a bluegrass band out of Virginia and they came to me looking for a new Website that would reflect their modern take on an age old genre. We had our first meeting backstage at Irving Plaza.

I had access to the other-worldly work of photographer Aaron Farrington (and actually, Baby J. Hackensaw even contributed a couple of the background photos), so my solution was to set the look and feel of the site with the textures and colors of the photos. I was able to give each page it’s own visual identity, while creating unity with a strong grid, and this gives the site a sense of narrative as you navigate through—very appropriate for these master storytellers.
